V & A Quilt Show

Rachel and I visited the quilt show at the V & A but weren't allowed to take photos. It was fantastic, one quilt was over 300 years old. It also showed the importance of labelling quilts, a lot weren't and it seems a little is lost of the quilt if you don't know the history. Hence that evening I made a label for my sisters quilt so when she passes it down, future generations will know why and when it was made.
In conjunction with Liberty fabrics they have made a range of fabrics inspired by some the quilts.....and yes I bought quite a few.
*picture to follow, camera issues*
Afterwards we went shoe shopping, well I did Rachel waited on the big gold shoe for me!

  3. Glad you girls enjoyed the quilt show. That is timely advice about quilt labels, thank you. I'm not always diligent. Love shoes shops - second only to fabric. Please include pix of shoes as well as fabric! Cheers, Ann :-)

  4. Glad you had a fun day together! I love that big gold shoe, I would have to sit on it for a while, what fun! Can't wait to see pics of your fabrics. I love the one on your link of the white background with the red and blue hearts. That is adorable fabric!

  5. Glad you had fun at the quilt show. Love the big gold shoe. Look forward to photos of the day.
Thanks for the reminder about labels, I am terrible about labeling my quilts. I better start doing labels as soon as I quilt a quilt.

  6. Rachel's expression clearly shows that she is enjoying the big gold shoe and/or the day out with Mom. I'm betting it's a little of both! Looks like you had a busy week. Mary
