Binding a cat

sorry I meant binding a quilt, although Sam is a pest when it comes to sewing. He's all over the sewing machine, runs off with my thread, loves the flower pincushions that Anne and Katie sent and bites the fabric!!

Here's my attempt at copying the Hever Castle flower boarder. It still needs weed cover and bark ( lots of stinging nettles in the garden) and I planted the marigolds only for Miss Aubs to snap off the flowers!! The white stuff are flowers from the huge tree I have in my garden, all summer it looks like its snowed! So hopefully by the end of the summer it will look like this.
hmmm just looking at theirs I think I might need a few more plants! and maybe I should have gone round the corners like they did! Oh dear!

Oh and here is Sascha, this is one hard cat to photograph. She does not like the camera and runs off when I get it out. However she was completely unaware I had it yesterday! She hasn't really grown much since she came home ( a year next month) but she has got rid of the mice...yay! and she bought me a snake yesterday...yikes!

  1. Little Sam looks so very happy with his snuggle spot. Kittens are fantastic in their ability to find a way to play with anything and everything. Sometimes they grow out of it, but most of my furry beasties have not (the youngest is 4 now). Of course I encourage the behavior just a little... But if I had known about your kitties (I don't believe I've ever "met" Sascha...), I would have included some toys just for them in with your blocks. Hmmm...

  2. Sam is so adorable!!! My kitties are the same way only they like to go under the quilts and then attack the thread as it goes by- not very productive!! Love the quilt by the way :) Christine

  3. Sam is so cute. Nice of Sam to "help" you bind a quilt. I love Sascha's coloring. Both pretty cats.
My dogs are not as interested in sewig as the kitties it seems, although m yunger dog will ake any opportunity to lay on a quilt. ( Not helpful when you are trying to baste it).

  5. That is a very happy kitty;) I have no idea why cats are drawn to sit on what we are working on. ;)
I love the polka dot fabric you used...is that the back of the quilt? Very cool;)
    Happy Quilting!!

  6. Oh poor Sam. He's just trying to be helpful! Nice looking quilt by the way. Be patient, gardens take time and I'm sure yours will be a beauty. Cheers, Ann :-)

  7. It seems that kitties and sewing (quilting especially) seem to be inseparable! Sascha is a sweetie too, my tortie is a bit camera shy too.

  8. AWWWWW! Simply adorable. I was trying to do some cross stitch watching TV the other night, when my 16 yr old Callie decided she needed to help. Sometimes I think she thinks she is still a kitten. Your garden looks lovvely, let us see how it grows. Pretty quilt. Connie
