Yesterday I went to Puddleducks in Sevenoaks, my nearest (i think) proper quilting store. Its run by a lovely lady who hails from Colorado, which is where I lived for 3 years! The shop was great, I got to touch loads of fabric and dream about the many quilts I could make. I have three in my head planned, two wedding quilts and a baby quilt.
*sigh* Then I had to pay for all my lovely fabrics *ouch!*
I already had the dragon/castle fabric and the grey moda solid, but purchased the green and blue. I couldn't wait to cut it up and make a block, but thats it for now as I have lots of projects to finish for next week.
That castle fabric is very cute. I look forward to seeing what else you bought and what it will turn into. And did you sew all the way around that skirt? Yep, definitely time for a break!
ReplyDeleteI gathered it and then sewed all the way round... I got Aubs to take off her jammies to try it on and then realised my mistake! I'm just about to sit down with a cuppa and unpick it!
ReplyDeleteYep! Been there; done that! The sewing, I mean, not the quilt shop! You have my sincere sympathy! The castle blocks are really cute! Have fun pickin'! *wink* ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteOops - I do that sort of thing all the time - never seem to learn. Will look very pretty when its sorted! Juliex
ReplyDeleteCute blocks. I to have to walk away sometimes.

Uh oh! I know that feeling!
ReplyDeleteI've used Puddleducks before but didn't realise the owner was from Colorado! How fab to have that on your doorstep.
ReplyDeleteThe castle fabric is sew cute, that will be a fantastic quilt! The backward seam on the skirt will be a great story to tell! The skirt is so girly and pretty!
ReplyDeleteLike the castle fabric and the colors youput with it. Seems like some days I spend more time unpicking than I do sewing. A least that can be fixed!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you live in Colorado?!? I lived in Fort Collins for 6 years then Boulder for 4. I love the block you've made :) Christine
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric and the color combination--just perfect! And haven't we all had that "how'd I do that?" moment... Aren't you happy it wasn't a larger size? Mary
