There was a little boy who swallowed a marble....

sigh, yep Sunday night I was back at the hospital having a tizzy fit that Riley had swallowed a marble.
He was all calm and collected and really enjoyed looking at the x-ray.
It passed, ahem!, yesterday.
I declined to retrieve it.

In other Riley health news, stitches are out and he is in the bath.
He was very dirty.
Even the nurse commented on his dirty toes!
He has been in the bath for an hour now.

However I have the most exciting news.

Three months ago I looked at a house, it was perfect.
Garden, downstairs toilet, kitchen big enough to fit a table.
I walked in and thought I want this hallway duck egg blue.
I want black and white floor tiles in the bathroom and kitchen.
Wooden flooring throughout, much better for building railway tracks on.
but we got outbid :(
I was sad.

Then I had a phone call whilst in the hospital.
It had all fallen through and would I like the house.

We move in Friday, yep as in this Friday.
Marathon packing sessions into the wee hours of the morning.
Paint has been bought.
Flooring has been ordered.

some bedroom ideas, grey and white/cream to show off the quilts!

This mama is a little stressed.

But I have a house
I have a garden jungle.
Its 5 minute walk to Mums and school and the train station.

What a lot of waffle....so I aim to do before and after pictures.
Keep the blog active whilst the sewing machine is away.

  2. Little boys do sometimes tend to do really weird things! My youngest swallowed a small unlocked padlock when he was about that age; it too passed with him unharmed, thank goodness! So glad you finally got a house; you have it looking great already. Have fun! ---"Love"

  3. Marble?? Too much;) Glad it came out okay;) My son swallowed a penny when he was little...after xrays, the docs said just let it work its way out "naturally". Congrats on the house...what fun you will have after you settle in;)
    Happy Quilting!!

  5. Congratulations on the house!!!!! And the marble...well, it could have been harder to retrieve like up the nose...my brother did that one! I'm glad it found its way back out and I don't blame you for declining to retrieve it! I hope you find time to get all you have planned done, but if you're missing from the blog a while, we'll know where you've gone. Ah yes, and I'm so happy to hear Riley is doing well after his surgery...well enough, in fact, to swallow a marble!

  7. Riley has been keeping you busy hasn't he? Glad he is well recovered from surgery ( and clean again). Glad to hear the marble passed without trouble.
